do people not understand how hard it is to make games?
so some of you may have seen the bad kong game that just came out https://twitter.com/CultureCrave/status/1715579434756149419 this one and many people including myself made fun of it, i mean they use a damn png isntead of animating it. but recently it has come out that the studio only had 1 ENTIRE YEAR to make this game, now the company iguanaBee only has 7 TEAM MEMBERS listed on the website with only one lead programmer. They said in a verge interview that their publisher GameMill entertainment, IguanaBee let go of a talented developer because they couldn't get enough funding for them to continue working which is so terrible. But this story really made me realize, do people meaning the average consumer and average publisher and or company that is giving money to the devs not realize how hard it is to make games?. Now ever since i have been a dev i have seen many people who think you only have to click one button and then boom done with game, which would be nice but its not how it works. And i've also seen many people pressuring game devs to release the game NOW and whenever that happens the results are always "meh", i feel like average consumers have no clue how hard game development is, like lets take gta 6 for example that games has been in development for like 300000000000 years and we still don't know much, but it feels like this year rockstar fans are forcing rockstar to rush their product and release it right now, but then when people saw the leaked gta 6 footage they were like "oh no gta 6 will be shit, look at the quality" and i was like... IT'S NOT FINISHED YET BRO, THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON THE GRAPHICS AND PROBABLY THE GAMEPLAY. I mean god it makes me angry how people don't understand how much of their pressure is making the devs lives hell. i mean if you want the game to be out now then you will get the gta 6 test footage, a bad terrible graphics maybe loads of bugs game. Games take so long, mostly good games take a long while except duke nukem forever to be made. we need to stop pressuring indie companies, indie devs heck even AAA game companies like rockstar, we all need to calm down because if we keep on stressing the devs then we will only have shite half finished games on the market or buggy messes like cyberpunk, that game is also an example of the pressure that game companies get from their fans. Like sir shigeru miyamoto once said "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." so please stop attack devs and forcing them to release their game to early.
